Elizabeth Edwards' cancer has multiply to her liver and doctors are recommending against additional treatment, People magazine reports. In a declaration to the magazine, the Edwards family says Elizabeth Edwards is resting at home in North Carolina . Daughter, Cate, a Washington attorney, and other family members are going to be with her. The journal says Edwards posted a Facebook message to her friends, saying she has been "sustained throughout my life by three saving graces -- my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of flexibility and hope."
Edwards, 61, is officially separated from her husband, former Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards. The former North Carolina senator had an affair with videographer Rielle Hunter and belatedly admitted -- after months of denials -- that he fathered a child, Frances Quinn Hunter. Elizabeth Edwards was former diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2004. She learned in 2007, as her husband prepared for a 2008 presidential proposal, that the cancer had returned.
