The Fulton County Schools

The Fulton county school- District Attorney Paul Howard said Wednesday that he will not rule out jail time for any teachers found guilty of cheating.

Multiple Fulton County schools are under investigation after accusations that some teachers changed answers on the state standardized CRCT exams to boost student test scores.

Wednesday's announcement comes after Howard met with a group called Concerned Black Clergy. Members of that group think a more appropriate punishment would be to reprimand teachers found guilty of cheating or force them to take furlough days.

"There are other avenues besides threatening teachers with jail time. And we don't think any teacher should go to jail for changing any erasures on a test," said Tim McDonald a member of the Concerned Black Clergy.

Both sides agree on one thing: They want the investigation wrapped up quickly. It could be completed within a few months.
