Iupui

Jared Sullinger set an Ohio State freshman record with 40 points and scored 26 of them in the second half tonight to rally the No.2-ranked Buckeyes to a 75-64 victory over IUPUI in Value City Arena.
Ohio State (7-0) trailed 50-41 with 12 1/2 minutes left in the game before outscoring the Jaguars 24-4 to reverse what would have been a monumental upset by the Summit League team from Indianapolis.

The Buckeyes have not lost a home game to an challenger not from one of the six major conferences since a 1994 loss to bowling green in St. John Arena.
Jared Sullinger finished with 13 rebounds and made 16 free throws, also a freshman record. William Buford added 14 points and Jon Diebler 13 for Ohio State.

Alex Young led IUPUI (4-6) with 20 points.

IUPUI broke from a 35-all halftime tie to a 45-39 lead by making its first five shots of the second half. Ohio State missed seven of its first eight. The Jaguars' lead grew to 50-41 with 12:40 left before the Buckeyes closed the gap.
A three-point basket by Diebler started a 7-0 run that reduced the margin to 50-48 with 11:02 left, and two free throws by Jared Sullinger at 10:13 restored the tie. A layup by Jared Sullinger with 8:37 remaining gave the Buckeyes' their first lead since the final minute of the first half, and they built it to the end.

The teams were tied at 35 at halftime after IUPUI made more than half its shots, turned the ball over only three times and fought the Buckeyes to a draw on the boards.
It was the first game in nine days for the Buckeyes, who had not played since winning at Florida State on Nov.30.
Their next game is at 2 p.m. Sunday against Western Carolina in St. John Arena.
