Round 1

Thiago landed first, but Howard took it and went in to grapple for a minute. Thiago pushed him off and landed a thick leg kick before taking him down to the mat. Howard held him in half guard until he managed to shake him loose and they got back up. Thiago is definitely out for blood tonight. They circled in the middle for about a minute, trading jabs, Howard landed a heavy one, but Thiago shook it off. Howard tried a leg kick, Thiago answered with a jab. Then Thiago threw a leg kick that rocked Howard back, it was about the hardest I’ve seen him throw. Howard recovers, throws a heavy one of his own. Thiago tries a leg kick to the body, but Howard catches it and lets it go. They grapple at the fence, nothing happening. Trade some more jabs and kicks. Thiago has this round easy, although Howard finishes the round with a flurry of punches. Howard limps a little heading to his corner.

Round 2

Thiago throws an inside leg kick to start off the round, he is on fire tonight! He goes in for a combo, Howard answers with a kick to the chest. Howard lands a combo of his own, left right, kick. Both fighters turning, looking for an opening. Howard sees one to land a leg kick, then he lands a flurry of punches. Thiago snaps a leg at him, and Howard is definitely limping now, favoring that leg.Thiago continues to punish it though. Thiago’s feet get tired and he takes Howard down. Half mount. Pummeling Howard’s head with his fists, under two minutes on the clock. Thiago trying to pass, and now Howard has him in full guard. Thiago goes for some ground and pound and Howard almost gets him shook off.  Thiago continues to work on some kind of hold, but the round ends and he gives Howard a hand up.

Round 3

Thiago comes out all legs again. Howard finds his leg and uses it, but Thiago’s leg kicks are way more wicked. Howard tries a combo but it doesn’t land. They fight, Howard looking to take down Thiago, but it doesn’t happen. Back to the middle, Howard with a nice leg kick. Thiago kicks him in the stomach. Then the leg. This fight has been all about leg kicks, mostly Thiago’s. Howard seems a little concerned, and is turning it on more with punches, combos and kicks. Whoa! Howard kicks Thiago in the stomach and falls down! Thiago is on him immediately, but he gets back up. They grapple at the fence, then separate. Back to the middle and trade some jabs. Howard is looking for a knockout. A minute left and they are still trading punches. Howard looks for a leg kick, but misses. Howard tries to open up but Thiago answers with body kicks. Howard tries his big right, but misses. Howard finishes with a outbreak again, but it’s too little too late. This is definitely Thiago’s best performance ever! They embrace and we wait for the decision.
