Elizabeth Olsen

2011 Sundance Film Festival Elizabeth Olsen perched for a Breakout -Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s little sister Elizabeth Olsen will be making her debut at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
Elizabeth has taken on roles that you never would have likely from her sisters. She is starring in two very concentrated films that will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
In Sean Durkin’s Martha Marcy May Marlene, she plays the role of a woman who is haunted by reminiscences and overwhelmed by paranoia after escaping from a rude cult. She also stars in Chris Kentis and Laura Lau’s Silent House, a psychological thriller that will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat. In this film she plays a young woman trying to break out of an ever-deepening frightening.
The critics are very excited about this 21-year-old actress and are predicting that Elizabeth Olsen may be poised for a breakout. After years of living in the shadows of her older sisters, she would be so eager if she were to surpass their acting abilities.
The twins were totally precious in the family hit series Full House but have never seemed capable of an intense drama or a blockbuster hit. It will positively be interesting to see if Elizabeth will rise to the top.

Spartacus Gods of the Arena

Spartacus Gods of the Arena Premier-Making a Spartacus series that doesn’t actually feature Spartacus sounds like an exercise in futility, like writing a Hardy Boys mystery about the Hardys’ best buddy Chet, or making a Jason Bourne movie without Jason Bourne. To make things worse, the miniseries is a prequel, a narrative format that mainly lends itself to relentless wheel-spinning. So it was a pleasure to find out that the Gods of the Arena premiere was such a surprisingly enjoyable hour of television.

Whitfield is sorely missed, and without him at the center, I’m not sure this miniseries can ever really be more than a well-produced mess. But it’s a gorgeous mess. Without the gravitas of Spartacus’ slave-revolt storyline, the makers of Spartacus seem willing to indulge their basest B-movie instincts. So the first hour was wall-to-wall with cartoonishly over-the-top fight sequences, jauntily unrestrained nudity from both sexes, and enough comically elaborate swearing to fill a fifth-grade playground. The plot follows a much younger Batiatus (John Hannah) and Lucretia (Lucy Lawless) as they try to take their stable of gladiators into the highest ranks. The simultaneous focus on the gladiators’ physical exertions and Batiatus’ back-room dealmaking make Spartacus feel more than ever like the bloodiest sports TV show ever. (It’s basically Any Given Sunday, except more realistic.)

Along with returning Spartacus stars Peter Mensah and Manu Bennett, Gods of the Arena features some delicious new characters. I’m not sure who I like more: Dustin Clare’s Gannicus, a gladiator champion with excessive tastes (threesome alert!) who narrowly survived a blindfolded street brawl; or Jaime Murray’s Gaia, a social climber who spent the first hour seducing Lucretia (lesbian sex alert!) and teaching her all about the joys of opium. I’m also intrigued to see more of Marisa Ramirez’ Melitta, who plays Oenomaus’ heretofore-unseen wife. (Presumably, something terrible will happen to her.)

Since Gods of the Arena is only going to last for six hours, and since we already know a few of the characters won’t make it out alive, this could make for fast-paced entertainment.

Kim Richards Alcoholic

Kim Richards discovered  being an alcoholic-Kim Richards is an alcoholic says her sister Kyle. In the ending of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kim Richards and Kyle got into a massive fight on the occasion of Taylor's birthday party.

The party which started off well ended up into an ugly fight. Kyle Richards was seen reproachful Kim Richards for being alcoholic. She said Kim Richards’, "You are alcoholic, liar and sick." Kim Richards busted in tears. Kim and Kyle both were intoxicated with drinks and were fighting continuously.

As Kyle was constantly accusing Kim Richards for being alcoholic, Kim accused her of having charms for all the guys she has been dating. Kim Richards was hurt on public experience of her being an alcoholic and Kyle left the party in tears too. Both once again met up in the Limo where Adrienne was seen trying to stop the fight. But it resulted in worse and Kyle was seen cursing Kim Richards maxim she is 'an alcoholic,' 'delusional' and 'demented'.

Later it was discovered that Kim Richards was sent to the rehab after the occurrence, Kyle has not been speaking a word and nothing till now is being said about Kim Richards being an alcoholic.

Malcolm Mitchell

Commitments secures from two top Valdosta recruits-Georgia made a major recruiting move on Thursday, landing a pair of Valdosta (Ga.) High standouts considered two of the best prospects in the nation.

Cornerback Malcolm Mitchell and tight end Jay Rome both pledged to the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-1, 187-pound Mitchell is the nation's 30th overall player, according to Rivals.com. The recruiting website lists Rome (6-5, 255) as the 56th-best prospect in the country.

Georgia now has 21 commitments and jumped to ninth in Rivals' recruiting rankings.

All commitments are non-binding until national signing day on Feb. 2.

Mitchell chose Georgia over Alabama. The speedy defensive back, who also could be a returner on special teams, also received offers from several other SEC schools. He made his announcement on a Valdosta radio station.

His teammate Rome, considered by some recruiting services as the nation's best tight end, made his announcement on ESPNU.

Rome was coveted by every major program in the South, but decided on Georgia over Clemson, Tennessee and Alabama.

Georgia still has two other top state prospects on its radar in defensive end Ray Drew of Thomas County Central and running back Isaiah Crowell of Columbus Carver.

Kennedy's 50th Anniversary Inauguration address

John F. kennedy inaugural address-John Fitzgerald Kennedy was a 43-year-old man who took the nation, and the globe, by storm.  He had a narrow electoral win over Richard Nixon, and all of his Hollywood friends (including one Francis Albert Sinatra) were standing by to celebrate.  But first, there was the little matter of the inaugural address.  On January 20, 1961, John F. Kennedy made his most famous speech to the world, and today, Google is honouring the 50th anniversary of JFK’s inaugural address with a special-made Google Doodle.
The U.S. Army was put in charge of clearing the streets and former president Herbert Hoover missed the induction ceremony because he couldn't fly into the city. When the ceremony did start, a lectern caught fire during the prayer, which some complained was too long, and Vice President Lyndon Johnson fumbled his words during his induction.
Yet the temper surrounding the event was one that Americans hadn't felt in years.
"There was this marvellous sense of vigour and yes, hope and optimism. It was also a time when we were entering a huge monetary boom," remembers ABC News contributor Cokie Roberts, a college freshman at the time who was not capable to make it to the inauguration because of the snow
“And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.  My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.”
Several people contributed to the speech, including Harvard economist John Kenneth Galbraith, but most of the heavy lifting was done by Theodore Sorenson, Kennedy’s primary speech writer, and Kennedy himself, who generously peppered his speeches with famous quotations from other speakers.  Perhaps then it’s fitting that the words are what gain the greatest emphasis in Google’s JFK Doodle, not the man himself.  After all, the words of the speech are unforgettable as the man who delivered it.

Zorrilla

New Orleans providing animal control -The SPCA has furnished the services for more than 60 years, but the two sides recently broke off talks on a new agreement because the organization said it could not provide services for the $1.7 million the city was offering in 2011.
Under the new agreement, the city has agreed to increase that figure to $1.92 million.
"This is a big win for the population and animals of New Orleans," Landrieu said. "As was done with so many other contracts, our discussions have been guided by my fiduciary liability to secure quality services for a price the city can afford. The LA/SPCA has been providing quality animal control and enforcement services for decades. As great community partners, their board, volunteers and donors have stepped up. We are pleased to have a fiscally in charge harmony in place for the next four years."
"The LA/SPCA is nationally recognized for the standards we set in animal care and sheltering," said Ana Zorrilla, CEO of the LA/SPCA. "We look overconfident to continuing these high quality services our citizens have come to expect for the animals of New Orleans."
Under the new agreement, the LA/SPCA will be paid $160,000 per month, or $1.92 million annually, for full animal control services, with annual buyer price index adjustments each January.

California warning of super storm

California might be struck by winter super storm-A group of more than 100 scientists and experts say in a new report that California faces the danger of a huge "super storm" that could flood a quarter of the state's homes and cause $300 billion to $400 billion in damage. Researchers point out that the potential scale of destruction in this storm scenario is four or five times the amount of damage that could be shaped by a major earthquake.
It sounds like the plot of an apocalyptic action movie, but scientists with the U.S. Geological study warned national and state emergency officials that California's geological history shows such "super storms" have happened in the past, and should be added to the long list of natural disasters to worry about in the Golden State.
The threat of a cataclysmic California storm has been dormant for the past 150 years. Geological Survey director Marcia K. McNutt told the New York Times that a 300-mile stretch of the Central Valley was inundated from 1861-62. The floods were so bad that the state capital had to be moved to San Francisco, and Governor Leland Stanford had to take a rowboat to his own induction, the report notes. Even larger storms happened in past centuries, over the dates 212, 440, 603, 1029, 1418, and 1605, according to geological confirmation.

Belfor Re-establishmentt: Undercover Boss

'

Belfor Re-establishment isn't precisely a household name, but they serve an important purpose - they help to rebuild and restore property after natural and man-made disasters. CEO Sheldon Yellen did plenty to boost the company's profile when he took his turn on CBS's "Undercover Boss" after his son suggested it.
Thus, the CEO of a company with a presence in 29 countries found himself on the frontlines of disaster recovery work, helping with water removal and rebuilding.
In an touching moment in Sunday's "Undercover" episode, Yellen breaks character and reveals himself to one employee he's working in the trenches with, promising to get her the long-overdue raise that didn't come with her promotion.
That said, he's not perfect. Like many Undercover Bosses, Yellen does his fair share of humming and desire for his ivory tower. In the epic battle of drywall vs. Yellen, the drywall absolutely wins.
Regardless of the boss showing the usual physical labor lack of skill that comes packaged with clear private jet access, we have to hand it to him. Belfor Restoration had a big hand in NBC's gone-too-soon "School Pride", providing time and materials to rebuild schools in need of an alteration.
Belfor has also been mainly successful when it comes to acquiring similar businesses, but unlike your typical business empire, Belfor makes an effort not to squash the little guy. "All the entrepreneurs who sold us their businesses have stayed on our payroll all this time," Yellen tells bnet, "running their local operations. We've had private-equity firms look at Belfor to try to buy our company, and they can't believe it."

Holly lahti

$190M Mega Millions Pot Claims  -Holly Lahti is the winner of the $190 million Mega Millions pot. She claimed her winning ticket Tuesday, lottery officials said. Lahti has asked the lottery that the location of her town not be identified beyond that it is situated in northern Idaho.
"We expect that she will be coming forward shortly," a lottery delegate announced at a press conference today. The representative did not want to comment on the winner, but did admit: "Well, when you win $190 million you're pretty excited."
The woman is one of two people to win the $380 million top prize. She is supposed to be a single mother with two children, according to ABC News affiliate KXLY. And, until today, she was a bank teller. She quit her job today, sources told KXLY.

Blood libel

Blood Libel Entry Hacked: Photos of Sarah Palin
-The Wikipedia access for "blood libel," the word on the tip of everyone's tongue today after Sarah Palin's controversial use of the word, was hacked to include a photo of Palin.

The access was quickly predetermined, but not before we took a screen grab of Palin's photo, used as the entry's main pictures under the title "Anti-Semitism."

Palin’s made headlines today for using the word, usually kept for deliberations of Jewish harassment, in a video she released in response to the shooting tear in Arizona.

San francisco earthquake

San francisco earthquake felt in bay area-In some non horror news, a 4.1 magnitude Earthquake was felt in San Francisco as well as in San Jose and the Bay area today. According to sources, small jolts were felt around the northern California area, but scientists say though it was nerve racking, it was also common and routine.

The epicenter of today's California earthquake was 13 miles southeast of San Jose's City Hall and occurred at 4:10 p.m. on Friday, within a patch of rocks deep underground near the Calaveras Fault in a remote oak-studded landscape.

"It's not unusual for the Calaveras to have magnitude 4 quakes, which may knock things off shelves but are unlikely to cause any structural damage," said USGS seismologist David Oppenheimer, based in Menlo Park.

People's choice awards winners

People's choice awards winners-Queen Latifah hosted the Peoples Choice Awards Wednesday night.  The people, the people!
Throughout the night, Latifah made sure we remembered that the people voted.
But did “the people” get it right?
I say… never leave it up to the people to vote for awards.
I know the People’s Choice Awards is more of a popularity contest than a measure of talent.  But still.
Selena Gomez as Breakout Artist?  Kristen Stewart – Favorite Movie Actress?  Really?
No disrespect to these two young women but… come on!   I guess the people have chosen.
At these type of awards, you know who is going to win when you see only winner in the audience and not the other nominees.
Because if the others showed up and didn’t win, it would be an embarrassment.
There’s my rant about the People’s Choice Awards.
The highlight of the night was watching how annoyingly awkward Kristen Stewart was, while her co-stars Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson shined.
And when Queen Latifah joked with them about the werewolf eating the vampire, wouldn’t the vampire eat the werewolf from the inside. That was funny.

Owen wilson death

Owen wilson Died at age of 38 years Old-Another hoax, really!? It must be nearing 10 death hoaxes that I have had to write about and let everyone know that someone is not dead. Aretha Franklin, Adam Sandler and a few other folks are still alive and well. The Owen Wilson death is the latest hoax that was sent out.

The Owen Wilson death was reported by a faux news agency called Global Associated News. Come on people, just because a site says that it has news doesn’t mean you can take their word and go tweet it all over the net. This irresponsible act has caused many actors and actresses to have to come out and show themselves so people don’t think they are death. The Owen Wilson death went along the same story line as the Adam Sandler death hoax.

What if someone really does die? Who is going to believe it after all of these hoaxes? Seriously people, you need to stop with the fake news because it’s getting old. The Owen Wilson death “news” was not funny.
